Dr Brown received his M.D. from the University of British Columbia. He was selected for a Surgical Internship in the top rated hospital in the United States … the Mayo Clinic. He was then selected for a six year residency at Mayo Clinic where he was appointed the Chief Resident in General Surgery and later the Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery. As a fully qualified plastic surgeon he then spent another two years in Paris and Tokyo studying with internationally renowned cosmetic surgeons.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (C), the American College of Surgeons, and the International College of Surgeons. He is an Active Member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society of Aesthetic Cosmetic Plastic Surgeons and the Canadian Society of Aesthetic Cosmetic Plastic Surgeons. He is past president of the Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons representing the western United States and Canada. Dr. Brown has practiced in Greater Vancouver for over 30 years.

He has appeared on CBC radio and television, and was Plastic Surgery consultant to the television series The X-Files.
