Dr. Alexandra Brooks-Hill
SPECIALIZATION: KNEE, SHOULDER
Dr. Alex Brooks-Hill is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty training in shoulder, elbow and knee surgery. She provides urgent orthopaedic assessment and is working to increase access to local urgent and elective surgery within the Sea to Sky Corridor. Athletic injuries are of particular interest to Dr. Brooks-Hill as she also seeks to be athletically involved in the Sea to Sky community throughout her lifetime.
Dr. Brooks-Hill completed her medical and orthopaedic residency training at the University of Toronto. Her first fellowship was in athletic injury, upper extremity and arthroscopic orthopaedic surgery at the University of British Columbia. Her second fellowship was an AO trauma fellowship with a focus on knee injuries at University Hospital in Geneva, Switzerland. Dr. Brooks-Hill is a clinical instructor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Brooks-Hill has a lifelong passion for sport. She has enjoyed being athletically active in the Sea to Sky corridor throughout her life. Her goal is to help others do the same.
Dr. Brooks-Hill is a physician member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team medical group. She was also the Chief of Medical for the Men's Alpine Skiing events at the 2010 Olympics in Whistler. She was previously the Co-Chief of Medical for the 2008 Alpine World Cup and the 2009 Para-Alpine World Cup.
